Its all vintage!

Posted on 6th March, 2013

This is  a new vintage display wedding cake only finished last week!

A huge thank you must go out to Neil Hanson of he has captured the beauty of this cake impeccably! Thanks also to Caswell House Cotswold Wedding Venue, near Brize Norton, who allowed us to use their venue.

This stunning cake is a pale champagne, finished with a topaz lustre. We have an intricate piped lace effect on 2 tiers (my own freehand design!). There are strings of pearls draping from the top tier which have been finished with a pearlescent lustre. The whole cake is finished with a selection of amazingly delicate pink vintage roses, powder blue hydrangeas, white blossoms and stephanotis flowers.

I have fallen in love with this cake, I hope you all do too as I could make one of these every week and never get fed up!

Snowy Weather! What to do?!

Posted on 22nd January, 2013

So Oxfordshire has been blanketed with snow, so how to while away the hours? Luckily there were no weddings to deliver too so I took the opportunity to be creative in my back garden and created a 'snow wedding cake' using my cake tins. I had a rummage around for anything vaguely colourful and decorated it!

It has been featured in the Oxford Mail and was short listed as one of the top 5 snow photographs. It went to a ballot and it came third, so I am very pleased with that!

You and Your Wedding Magazine also tweeted about it. :)

Coca-Cola Olympic Cake

Posted on 8th April, 2012

I was  honoured to be commissioned to provide a cake for Coca-Cola to mark the Olympic Event Management Assignment Day which they were sponsoring. The event took place at the Ricoh Arena Coventry on 15th March and I was so happy to learn that all of the cake went and people were coming back for bigger slices!

My first award and my goodness am I proud! Earlier this month I was delighted to discover that I had won the Ice the Cake 'Cake of the Year 2012' competition. This was for a stunning parcel cake I did for Eleanor and Danny Rose last November. This style of cake is proving very popular as I am commissioned to do quite a few of them this year! Thanks to everyone who voted for me, I love my job and to be recognised for my passion and creativity means the world! :)

Ice the Cake is a new, exciting wedding consultancy offering every ingredient for the perfect wedding. Owner Sue Page launched the company last year after being inspired by her own wedding and the website provides a must have list of 'credible and incredible' wedding suppliers.

Save the Date reservation opportunity.

Posted on 16th May, 2011

Wedding season isn't necessarily confined to the summer months, we now see weddings all year round. At busy times of the year we find ourselves inundated with requests that sadly we do have to decline.

Due to the bespoke and personal nature of our service, we only take on one or maybe two wedding orders per week. We do not want to be providing mass produced cakes or compromising quality, as the essence of our service is that we produce a wedding cake that is unique and personal to you- and this takes time, effort and the utmost of dedication.

We are now offering you the chance to 'Reserve your Date' for the special price of £50.

Upon receipt of your deposit (which will be deducted from the final cost of your cake) we will ensure that your order is tentatively booked in our diary. Once we have one wedding order for that week we generally class ourselves as fully booked and would only take on further orders after careful consideration of the workload of that existing order.

The final details of your wedding cake can be left until 3 months before your wedding where you can schedule a face to face consultation to discuss the requirements of your cake in greater detail.
